Because we are a public charity, we depend mainly upon donations from the public and private sectors for our support. Over one million Americans suffer from Hidradenitis Suppurativa, a debilitating and shameful disease first described in 1839. To date we don't know what causes it, we don't have a cure, and there still is a lot of public confusion around this disease. We are committed to changing that and improving the lives of those who suffer from HS.

We offer several ways to contribute below. Your donation, however small or large, is critical in helping to fund public education and patient support programs, as well as important research for improving treatment and ultimately finding a cure.

How we use your money

Important projects that need funding include

24/7 CRISIS HOTLINE
EDUCATION of medical professionals and the public
(displays, brochures, presentation materials, printing costs, postage,
fees for trade shows, conferences & speakers, web site, etc.)
RESEARCH into causes, treatments & cures for HS, and publication of requests for proposals

Tax-deductible cash donations

Don't give your money to the IRS! Any amount you donate to HS-USA qualifies for a charitable deduction on your Federal income tax return (if you itemize). HS-USA will provide you with an acknowledgement letter for donations over $75. Donations may be given "In Memory Of….." and will be listed accordingly in the Annual Report.

Please note: Checks need to be made out directly to HS-USA. We cannot accept checks made out to memorial funds. You have two options:

pay into a special fund set up in memory of the deceased, from which a check is issued to HS-USA, or
write checks directly to HS-USA
